Vacant House in Colorado Springs is Flooded

A coupling gave way in this vacant home in Colorado Springs resulting in standing water throughout the floor space. Fortunately, the amount of water was not over an inch high. Our SERVPRO techs can use truck-mounted and portable pumps to extract most of the water. Since all the flooring was covered with carpet, we then lifted the edges to dry the underlying padding. The option was to toss all the padding and reset all the carpeting. This method worked well in conjunction with air movers and dehumidifiers. The After Photo suggests that the home is "Like it never even happened." We also did a thermal fogging to eliminate the odors from the wetted, fibrous surface. The owner was elated that we could restore his water damaged home to its preloss condition. The For Sale sign went back up within a week.
